$10K grant will help Kingston plan for flood recovery

KINGSTON, N.Y. – A $10,000 grant awarded to Kingston will go toward designing plans for the city to recover from natural disasters, particularly flooding of the Rondout Creek.

Julie Noble, environmental education and sustainability coordinator for the city, said the grant was awarded to Kingston by the National League of Cities’ Leadership Community Resilience Program.

Noble, the wife of Mayor Steve Noble, said she applied for the funding in 2017. She said 45 municipalities applied and Kingston was one of just seven to be approved.
