A water main beneath the red stone crosswalk of Fourth Street and Rainbow Boulevard ruptured Thursday morning. The 6-inch line was repaired by 2 p.m., according to Niagara Falls Water Board spokesman Kailey Kolozsvary. The excavation site was restored by water board crews on Thursday.
The city will blacktop the site in the spring, Kolozsvary said. Water service was not compromised during this repair and water pressure was not affected, she said.
