Amazon seems to be strengthening its already growing grip around the Southern Tier with its plan to lease warehouse and distribution space in the Town of Conklin.
The 66,000 square-foot space at the former location of the Matthew Bender & Co. facility at 136 Carlin Road is undergoing planning board and town board approvals, according to Stacey Duncan, Executive Director of The Agency, Broome County economic development entity.
It is the second Amazon distribution facility planned in the Southern Tier. A 77,000 square-foot facility is planned at a former factory in the Town of Bath.
