C-PP facilities finish line

CORNING – A number of unexpected expenses have put the Corning-Painted Post School District up against the budget limit for the ongoing $63 million facilities project that includes work at the elementary schools along with some at the middle school, high school and stadium.

School Board President Dr. Dale Wexell raised the issue at the board’s final meeting of 2017, noting that the project is within $13,000 of the budget.

That means if all other work comes in exactly as planned, the project would end up $13,000 under budget, Superintendent Mike Ginalski told The Leader.

He noted that that’s not unusual.

“We ended the $97 million high school project with $6,000 once all was said and done,” Ginalski said.
