Companies Pitch Solar Projects To County

FONDA — Representatives of solar energy companies came in front of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Agency to discuss their products’ benefits in the midst of the agency’s green energy moratorium on Thursday.

During the public comment section of the IDA’s meeting Thursday, two representatives for separate solar energy companies came before the agency to discuss the benefits solar energy can have for the county. Their appearance at Thursday’s meeting comes in the middle of the IDA’s moratorium to assist solar, hydro and wind facility projects financially. The moratorium was put into place in December 2018 in order to create a separate payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement.
