CORNING | State funding will help Corning-based Community Progress Inc. replace six manufactured homes in Steuben County. Community Progress Executive Director Julie Chevalier said this is the third year the organization has received funding through the HOME Local Program for this kind of effort.
“It’s a somewhat newer initiative that the state has put out, and we seem to have a huge need for it here,” Chevalier said. The state award provides $600,000 for the replacement of six homes.
While Community Progress provides help with home maintenance and repairs in Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties, the homes identified for this program are those beyond repair.
