The Delaware County Department of Public Works and the county Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the county’s decision to use eminent domain proceedings to seize part of Bob and Joyce Bishop’s Hamden property to build new facilities for the DPW.
More than 50 people showed up to the almost two-hour meeting. Wayne Reynolds, the commissioner of the county’s DPW, gave a brief presentation on the time line of events, which was contested by the Bishops.
Bob Bishop interjected that the county never gave a formal offer. Reynolds said again that paying Bishop’s asking price, $1.2 million, would be excessive spending of taxpayer money.
