County gets state funds to demo structures across from prison
DANNEMORA — Clinton County is taking steps to remove two longstanding eyesores in the Village of Dannemora.
The decrepit dark-yellow buildings at 1155 and 1157 Cook St., directly across from Clinton Correctional Facility, will be demolished and the land cleared.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to see this,” said County Legislature Chairman Harry McManus (D-Area 1, Champlain).
“There are very few times when you get to turn the page on something, so it is nice to be able to do this.”
The buildings have been vacant for years and declared condemned.
