Ellicott teams with Chris Jacobs on Allentown reuse project, buys Union Pub building

Ellicott Development Co. is teaming up with developer and politician Chris Jacobs for a historic reuse project in Allentown.

The development company owned by William and Carl Paladino is working with Jacobs, owner of Avalon Development, on a renovation of a three-story building at 138 Allen St. The structure, built in 1936, is located behind Ellicott’s four-story Bellasara Apartments building at Delaware Avenue and Allen Street, and is three blocks from the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

Plans by TRM Architects call for 20 to 25 apartments, with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, plus “a few thousand square feet” of commercial space on the ground floor that could be expanded by taking out one or more apartments, said Ellicott director of development Tom Fox.
