HORNELL — City officials are hoping to hit the downtown jackpot later this year by highlighting massive private investments made in the city recently.
A public hearing was held on Monday to gather public input on the city’s application for New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative is a program that will invest $100 million into 10 downtown neighborhoods across the state.
Last year, the City of Elmira was named the winner of funding while Hornell Placed fourth in the region of 14 contenders.
Previous winners of initiative funding include: Watkins Glen, Elmira and Vestal.
