Grant supports Norton Memorial Park

Allegany County Area Foundation donates $1,000 to revitalize Almond park

ALMOND — A park honoring a beloved native son that provides children accessible, centralized play space in the Village of Almond is one step closer to reality today.

On Tuesday, The Greg Norton Memorial Park Committee received a donation of $1,000 from the Allegany County Area Foundation in support of their efforts to revamp the park and restore it to its former glory.

The park is named for Greg Norton, a graduate of Alfred-Almond and a basketball star, who was killed in a car accident in 1988.
