A company that bills itself as “the fastest fiber-to-the-home provider in New York state” will soon bring its high-speed internet service to the Greater Binghamton area.

Rochester-based Greenlight Networks said it signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire Plexicomm, LLC, a Binghamton-based internet solution provider.

The agreement sets the stage for Greenlight to provide its internet services to residents and businesses in Binghamton and across the greater Broome and Tioga County areas, the company said in a news release.

Greenlight, which currently provides service to nearly 50,000 homes, small businesses, and multi-dwelling units in 13 municipalities, will keep all 12 Plexicomm employees as part of the agreement, and Plexicomm President Dan English will become Greenlight’s Greater Binghamton Region general manager.
