Zack Smith dribbled the ball — one, two — then leaped into the air on the side of the hoop and shot the ball. Swoosh.
Smith, an 18-year-old Homer High School senior, was among a dozen boys and men Tuesday afternoon using the Homer village basketball courts, which sit just behind the Homer Fire Department on Main Street.
“They (the courts) were not the best,” he said.
Now Smith is excited to get out and shoot some hoops after the village updated the courts with new painted markings, hoops and a water fountain.
