Insurance expected to offer $1.2M for county’s fire-damaged Franklinville Highway Barn

LITTLE VALLEY — Cattaraugus County’s insurance company has indicated it will pay $1.2 million for damage done to the Franklinville Highway Barn after a fire Oct. 31 ruined the 10-bay structure.

A new garage will cost just over $5 million and could be ready in as little as 12 to 18 months, said Mark Burr, the county’s Department of Public Works director of engineering. The old barn must first be demolished, but that has been delayed by requests from insurance companies
