Little Falls seeks to acquire fire-damaged parcel

LITTLE FALLS — One of the West Main Street properties still littered with debris from last year’s explosion and fire could soon belong to the City of Little Falls.

The Little Falls Common Council voted unanimously Tuesday to authorize Mayor Mark Blask to execute an agreement with Herkimer County and all other documents necessary to complete the transfer of the parcel at 387 W. Main St.

The resolution states that the county has started in rem proceedings to obtain title to the property and is willing to complete the in rem process and transfer the title to the city.
