Little Falls to seek housing rehab grant

LITTLE FALLS — The Little Falls Common Council voted Tuesday to apply for another housing rehabilitation grant.

The city was awarded a $435,000 Community Development Block Grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development two years ago, Jim Thatcher, of C.T. Male, told the council, adding it was one of many successful grant applications for the city over the years.

Under the program, the city can assist people with home improvements such as roofs, electrical work and furnaces.

“It helps people stay in their homes,” Thatcher said.

He asked if the council wants to seek another $400,000 in funding in the upcoming grant cycle.
