Livingston County pitches training facility for Sheriff’s Office; residents questions noise, loss of property tax

MOUNT MORRIS – Livingston County is developing plans for a Sheriff’s Office Training Facility on nearly 100 acres of land off of Route 408 in the town of Mount Morris.

The project, which would begin with a shooting range, has been talked about conceptually for years and began moving forward in recent weeks following the county’s acquisition of the land at 7524 Mount Morris-Nunda Rd.

County officials, speaking at a public information meeting last week, said they would like to begin construction by late summer or early fall.
