Manheim town officials say solar garden site is not in compliance with special permit

DOLGEVILLE — The Manheim Town Council plans to send a letter to Monolith Solar Associates regarding its solar garden site at the corner of state Route 167 and Barker Road, which officials say isn’t in compliance with town codes.

“Monolith is not in compliance with its special use permit,” said Manheim Town Supervisor John Haughton during a telephone interview Thursday. ”… [There is] supposed to be, on Barker Road, a driveway, and trees planted along Route 167, and none of the work was completed. So, we are having attorney [Kenneth] Ayers contact them about complying with the special use permit.”

Haughton said a resident recently complained about the site. “They have, absolutely, not complied,” he said of the company.
