Parks strategy coming

CORNING – Work will soon be underway to carve out a clear strategy to address the future of the city’s six popular parks, two heavily used outdoor swimming pools and the Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink.

Councilman Kate Paterson, D-2, will chair the three member Parks Improvement Committee geared to find ways to invest in city facilities while balancing competing uses and historic preservation.

“We can’t wait to get started,” said Paterson who, will serve on the committee along with Councilman Frank Muccini, R-5, and Diane Telehany, D-1. “We expect work on the project to get underway in the early spring.”
