Politcal Roundup: Helming announces waterworks upgrades in Canandaigua

Improvements will include construction of a 12-inch water main on the west side of County Road 10 in the town

GENEVA — State Sen. Pam Helming, R-Canandaigua, announced this week $700,000 in state funds to construct a water main and increase water pressure in areas of the town and surrounding communities. The request has been sent to the state Department of Health, which will administer the funding.

The project will involve construction of a 12-inch water main on the west side of County Road 10 in the town. Water customers along the route can expect increased flow and water pressure. The upgrades will also benefit the Ontario County Fairgrounds and improve firefighting capacity. Several neighboring municipalities will also benefit through the looping of water lines to enhance water pressure flows and decrease pressure on existing facilities.
