The office of Gov. Andrew Cuomo commenced the winter season with the announcement of $4.2 million in state funds for the maintenance and preparation of snowmobile trails in New York state.
Thirty snowmobile clubs across Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie counties were awarded nearly $400,000 in state funds this year for trail maintenance and grooming.
“New York is unrivaled in its natural beauty in all four seasons and offers a vast recreational trail system for snowmobilers to enjoy our stunning winter landscape,” Cuomo said. “By providing the funding to keep trails in good condition and encouraging more tourists to visit our state for the free snowmobile weekend, we are helping grow our upstate tourism economy and maintaining our outdoors trails for generations to come.”
