NORTH TONAWANDA: City received $1.47M grant from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office.
North Tonawanda has announced that the city has received a $1.47 million grant from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office as part of a program aimed at making water infrastructure improvements across Western New York.
Cuomo has earmarked a total of $23.3 million in grants for 14 “critical” projects throughout the region, according to a press release from North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur Pappas’ office. The release says “this represents $47.9 million in taxpayer savings and supports the creation of 1,100 jobs.” The funding comes from the state’s Water Infrastructure Improvement Act program.
