Utica Common Council unanimously passes parks master plan

UTICA — The Utica Common Council unanimously passed the Utica Parks and Recreation Master Plan Wednesday evening, with no comments from members.

The 200-page plan lays out a way for the city to fix current problems and identify future needs the residents may have for the parks system in Utica.

If the plan is seen through, there will be a park located within a 10-minute walk of every resident in the city.

While Utica has the third largest parks system in the state — with Buffalo and New York City taking the first two slots — the city wants to make it even better.
