YORK – The founder, president and CEO of a logging company in York that recently merged with a similar outfit in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, said he’s excited about what the future holds for his new company.
In October, the merger of Trathen Logging Co. in York and its sibling company, Miller Marquart Lumber Co. of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, was finalized.
The new company, which will operate under the name The Trathen Group, said the merger will allow it to better leverage its buying power to reduce overhead costs, more easily cross-train its employees and trade solely with the Trathen name, which is better known regionally and internationally.
