CAPITAL PROJECT: School district awaits state’s OK on $15M in upgrades
By BRIAN QUINN
ALEXANDER — The district has the public’s blessing to have $15 million worth of repairs and upgrades to its buildings and classrooms, but the start of construction is still up in the air.
Voters passed the project Wednesday by a vote of 113-90. The work includes renovating certain Elementary School classrooms and new, accessible toilet rooms in the building.
“We have experienced significant flooding issues on the ground floor of our elementary classrooms over the years. This project remedies that problem while providing necessary upgrades to our classrooms, while adding
updated bathrooms on the ground floor,” the district said on its website. “At the High School, freezer and AG STEAM spaces are in need of renovation and mechanical updating.”
