QUEENSBURY — Things are getting worse for the sewer break behind D’Ella Honda.
Despite more than two days of work, Queensbury could not build a bypass pipe to keep the sewage away from the broken area.
So now town Supervisor John Strough has declared an emergency. The town is hiring a contractor immediately — skipping the normal bidding process, which officials do not have to follow during an emergency.
O’Connor Construction will build a berm around the sewer break, collecting the sewage in a contained area as it leaks out onto the ground. It will be pumped away continuously by truck.
