Work continues on new Farmers’ Market location
PLATTSBURGH — Work on the Plattsburgh Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market’s new location continues.
Demolition and asbestos abatement at the former Municipal Lighting Department site on Green Street has encountered some hiccups due to bad weather and other factors.

As determined last year, the market was to take over one of the former MLD buildings.
Those six structures, known as the MLD Complex, were all in need of asbestos abatement and, with the exception of the market’s future structure, were to be razed.
The City of Plattsburgh received a $1 million Restore NY grant to raze five of the buildings and had contracted Plattsburgh-based Ormsby Trucking and Excavating to get it done.
